The clash of two musical titans
Jarvis Cocker will take on Bez in a one-off special of daytime TV classic Bargain Hunt next month, the BBC has announced.
The Pulp frontman will pair up with Candida Doyle to take on Bez and Rowetta Idah from the Happy Mondays as part of the fourth annual BBC Music Day.
In what promises to be the best day of afternoon telly since the World Cup finished, Shaun Keaveny, Lianne La Havas, Amy Macdonald, Leslie Garrett and Ella Eyre will also appear in a special edition of Pointless.
So, if you’re thinking of pulling a sickie, then mark out 28 September in your diary.
“The UK is truly a nation of music lovers,” said Bob Shennan, director of BBC Music.
“BBC Music Day aims to bring the nation together to celebrate this, from pop and rock to classical and choirs and everything in between. There really is something for everyone to enjoy!”
If you’re wondering what Cocker’s been up to besides his forthcoming tear-up of the BBC’s daytime TV schedule, earlier this year he went on mini-tour of his JARV music project, following the release of his album Room 29 in 2017.
