Adebayo Akinfenwa is rumoured to be taking part in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! The ex-Wycombe Wanderers striker, once known as the UK's heaviest player, is the first footballer reported to be on the 2022 line-up. The 40-year-old from London retired this year, after an emotional last game at Wembley. Older football fans will remember him playing for the likes of Swansea, Millwall and Gillingham FC, though he is likely to be popular with younger viewers to given that he is a big Fifa video games name. He was a hardman on the pitch, but is a gent off it. "He’s also charismatic and funny and knows loads of people in the game." I'm A Celeb is set to make a return to the Australian jungle later this year, after two years filming at Gwyrch Castle in Wales due to covid restrictions. A spin-off show called I'm A Celebrity All Stars will see former contestants brought together, with the likes of Carol Vorderman and Paul Burrell rumoured to be making a re-appearance.
