Speaking to The Sun, one source said: "Ade is in the frame and would be keen on appearing. He was a hardman on the pitch, but is a gent off it.
"He’s also charismatic and funny and knows loads of people in the game."
I'm A Celeb is set to make a return to the Australian jungle later this year, after two years filming at Gwyrch Castle in Wales due to covid restrictions.
A spin-off show called I'm A Celebrity All Stars will see former contestants brought together, with the likes of Carol Vorderman and Paul Burrell rumoured to be making a re-appearance.
It will be filmed in South Africa but won't be broadcast until next year.
