Ice Cube confirms that another Friday film is definitely in the works

Fans will be delighted.

Given that Ice Cube has perfected the on-screen persona of being too cool for school and incredibly f**king scary, we’re not exactly surprised to see the Jump Street, Ride Along and Boyz n the Hood star make a return to one of his most beloved franchises.

Yes, that’s right. We’re going to get a fourth installment of the Friday films and Mr Cube – otherwise known as O’Shea Jackson – is currently working on the new adaptation.

Speaking on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he said “We’re working on one right now. We’re gonna call it Last Friday,” Cube said.

The original movie was released in 1995, followed by Next Friday in 2000, and Friday After Next in 2002.

Cube didn’t elaborate on any further details but this news supports a recent update that actor John Witherspoon (Mr Jones) gave on the long-awaited project.

During an interview with Power 95.3, he claimed that Ice Cube told him Warner Bros had approved another sequel.

Well, here’s the official confirmation of a new entry in the cult-classic.
