The BBC has plans to update the mobile version of its iPlayer app as it competes with the likes of 4od, Netflix and Amazon Prime in the crowded TV streaming marketplace.

And now everyday people have the chance to find out what's in store by signing up to test the new version of the product. There's some bad news for iPhone users, though, with Engadget reporting that the new features are Android only for the time being. You can apply to be a tester on the iPlayer's Google Play page, but places are limited.
