Channeling his character 'Big Paulie' from Scorsese's classic.
Goodfellas star Paul Sorvino has channeled his most famous on-screen performance, the mobster 'Big Paulie' from Goodfellas, as he described dishing out some street justice in defense of his daughter, actress Mira Sorvino.
In the last few weeks, various reports have emerged which allege that Weinstein had attempted to blacklist the actress. In an interview with
Deadline, Peter Jackson, director of Lord the Rings, has said that the shamed film producer asked him not to work with Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino.
In response to this, Sorvino was approached by a
TMZ reporter and asked for his reaction to the allegations that Weinstein tried to blacklist his daughter.
Speaking with TMZ, he said: "He better hope he goes to jail. Because if we come across [each other], I think he’ll be lying on the floor,” said Sorvino.
In Scorsese's classic, Sorvino played Paul Cicero - a criminal that's based on the real-life gangster Paulie Vario - and the actor gave an answer that you might expect from his iconic character.
When asked to respond to reports that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is
examining two cases involving Weinstein, he said: "If we come across [each other], I think he’ll be lying on the floor. That son of a bitch. Good for him if he goes (to jail). If not, he has to meet me. And I will kill the motherf**ker. Real simple.”
