Game of Thrones star has a cracking story about just how weird fans of the show are

Paul Moore

“Who would do that?!?!”

During the course of Game of Thrones, Brienne of Tarth has proven herself to be an extremely trustworthy person. In the season finale, we saw Sansa Stark choosing her as Winterfell’s representative during the Dragonpit negotiations and her honour is without question. Hell, her sword is even named Oathkeeper.

On that note, it’s fair to assume that the Game of Thrones producers can trust Gwendoline Christie with secrets from the show but like the White Walker attack at Hardhome, certain fans just keep coming with their odd questions.

In Star Wars – The Last Jedi, Christie returns to play Captain Phasma and the actress was a guest on the Graham Norton Show alongside John Boyega, Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley to promote Roan Johnson’s film.

Inevitably, the conversation turned to Game of Thrones and just how weird some fans of the show are.

Here’s what happened when Christie met an ‘overenthusiastic’ fan while having root canal surgery.

She said: “I was having root canal surgery and I was in the dentist’s chair. There was a clamp holding my mouth open, I had the bib and all the lovely plastic things around my mouth. I was reclined back in the chair and I was feeling like ‘this isn’t an ideal situation.’The dentist left the room and I’m lying here with my mouth open and the dental nurse hits me on the thigh and goes ‘Now tell me what happens in Game of Thrones!’ She literally had me where she wanted me! She wasn’t going to let me go! Then she said ‘What’s it like being naked with Jaime Lannister. Is it sexy? Tell me it’s sexy! And I’m just gargling”

If that wasn’t enough, Lady Brienne also gets asked for selfies when she’s sitting on the toilet.

Game of Thrones fans can be strange people.
