Game of Thrones creators had to cut a scene with a beloved character

Paul Moore

Until next time.

We all know that Jon Snow is tougher than Valyrian steel, but if the King in the North ever needed some help, he has some powerful allies to call on.

Ser Davos is arguably one of the shrewdest, most experienced and versatile knights in the Seven Kingdoms and as for Tormund, well, he would march into battle unarmed against an army of White Walkers. Yep, he loves fighting that much.

Jon has plenty of warriors, knights and stone cold killers to call on, but one character has always been more reliable than anyone else, his beloved direwolf Ghost.

Throughout the history of Game of Thrones, we’ve seen the badass direwolf do all of the following; threaten a Night’s Watch soldier that was bullying Sam, alert Jon that a wight is attacking Castle Black, save Sam from a wight when they ventured beyond The Wall, kill Rast at Craster’s Keep and murder a Thenn during the wilding invasion of Castle Black.

He’s such a cool character.

All this without mentioning the fact that the loyal animal stayed by Jon’s side after those mutinous Night’s Watch soldiers stabbed their Lord Commander in the chest.

Truth be told, it’s a toss up between him and Drogon for the award of best animal/mystical creature in Game of Thrones.

This being said, Jon has been fairly busy in his new role as King in the North, meaning we haven’t seen much of that famous white fur and red eyes.

In fact, Game of Thrones producer Bryan Cogman even said that they filmed a scene between Jon and his beloved companion for the most recent episode, but it didn’t make the cut.

Here’s hoping that the King in the North will be ruling with Westeros’ most beloved direwolf by his side very soon.
