Paul Rudd reveals potential plot for Anchorman 3

In an exclusive interview with JOE, the Ghostbusters star discussed the possibility of a third instalment of the much-loved comedy.

Paul Rudd has shared details of a prospective plot for Anchorman 3, were the film’s creators to decide to make a third instalment of the franchise.

While sitting down with JOE to discuss his role in the brand new Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Rudd discussed where he thinks the beloved Brian Fantana would be in the world today.

He started off by saying Fantana would probably be up to nothing these days because he would have been “cancelled in some way”.

“If Brian was still with us,” he added. “He’d probably live in a small studio apartment and he’d be doing a podcast to no one, and for no one.”

When asked if that was a storyline that could be explored if a third instalment of the franchise is to be made, Rudd said: “Nobody has ever talked about it. They’d probably all try to have podcasts wouldn’t they?

“And no one would listen.”

We can’t speak for all Joe readers but we’d be willing to bet that everyone wants to see a new Anchorman where Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind embark on new careers as podcast host’s.

Brick’s podcast would just be all about his love for lamps we’d imagine.

In his conversation with Joe, the 54-year-old actor revealed that he has installed a bar in his own house for one reason and one reason only: to have a Guinness directly from the tap.

“I love Guinness,” Rudd said in response to a question asked by the public.

“It’s my favourite drink. I actually have it in my house in keg form.

“I have an Irish pub in my house.”

Rudd then went into the details of ensuring how to pour a perfect pint of Guinness.

“It’s a two-pour system,” he added.

“If you wanna pour a proper Guinness you have to tilt it, pull back on the tap, go for a minute and 19 seconds and you let it sit and settle. Then you pull forward on the tap to let out some of the nitrogen and you just bring it up to the top.”

Rudd also discussed the differences between life in the UK and the US during the ten minute interview.

As well as admitting that the UK have a much better array of confectionary snacks, including chocolate, the actor opened up on how he likes to unwind after a day of filming.

Television and films of were also things he felt were better in the UK, which is where his love for Gogglebox was revealed.

The Ant-Man star said: “I love Gogglebox.

“I love it so much. Whenever I arrive in the UK it’s the first thing I watch. It’s always on and I always watch it.

“I even watched the celebrity version last night.”

He went on to admit that despite it’s success in the UK, it wouldn’t take off in his home country.

Rudd added: “I don’t think we could do it in our country. We’re not quick enough.”

Maybe this is the sign to get Rudd back to the UK to feature on the next Gogglebox celebrity special. Who wouldn’t watch that?
