Continuing the trend of recent years, the latest game in the FIFA series is expected to feature new leagues.
As pointed out by alphr, it's unlikely that the game's makers, EA, will pay much attention to internet polls when planning FIFA 17, but given the fact that over 2 million people have taken the time to vote on the FIFPlay poll of leagues, perhaps they should.
With the arrivals of several high-profile players in China's Super League in recent months, many might expect it to top such a poll. However, just 1% of voters want to see it added to the new game - about the same amount of voters that want to see the Welsh League. Instead, the poll indicates that the Israeli league is the most in demand, with over 400,000 votes. This is closely followed by Turkey's second division and then the third tier of German football. Coming 19th in the current UEFA coefficient, the Israeli Premier League is hardly a heavy hitter in European football, but who knows, maybe league champions Maccabi Tel Aviv could make an appearance in the game next year. The JOE Film Club Quiz: Week 104
