After releasing in UK cinemas last week, a new film described as "hypnotic" has dazzled fans, leading many to say it surpasses Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's Everything Everywhere All at Once stunned audiences when it was initially unveiled back in March. The flick finally made it to UK theatres on May 13, just a week after Sam Raimi's own multiverse-themed Marvel instalment received widespread critical praise.
However a lot can happen in three days and now a large number of fans are comparing the two films.
Both grapple with ideas of the multiverse and are, for lack of a better term, strange. Everything Everywhere All at Once follows Evelyn Wang, a downtrodden laundromat owner played by Michelle Yeoh who you might recognise from Shang Chi, The Mummy, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Crazy Rich Asians.
Wang is thrust into a multiversal quest including one reality where people have hot dogs for fingers and another that sees a teppanyaki chef be puppeteered like by a racoon Ratatouille-style.
At the time of writing, the film has an impressive score of 96 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of 90 per cent.
While the reviews for Multiverse of Madness have largely been positive, that hasn't stopped people from comparing the two films.

"I really enjoyed #MultiverseOfMadness but after watching and rewatching “Everything Everywhere All At Once” there’s not even a conversation about which is a better overall film and multiverse story," wrote film buff and journalist Matt Ramos. "That movie feels more worthy of the title - multiverse of madness."
Another fan wrote: "Everything Everywhere All At Once is a much better multiverse movie than Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness."

"Bro i’m not gonna lie after seeing everything everywhere all at once multiverse of madness feels like a distant unsatisfying fart," someone else tweeted.
