Fan hit by Cardi B's microphone has reported the incident to the police

Las Vegas police have released a statement regarding the incident

A fan has gone to the police after Cardi B threw a microphone into the crowd during a gig, hitting a concertgoer.

Over the weekend, footage of the incident which occured at a concert in Las Vegas was widely shared online.

The video showed the rapper, 30, throwing the mic into the crowd after losing her cool when a fan tried to splash her with the drink during her performance of hit single ‘Bodak Yellow.’

The entertainer could be seen shouting her name before throwing the mic and walking off stage.

While security escorted the fan out, Cardi B – who’s real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – could be seen trying to fix her hair and calm down.

Footage from after the incident showed the woman apologising, and a number of people have said she seemed genuinely sorry about the incident.

Now, a concert-goer has reported the incident to the police.

In a statement to Variety, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department said: “On July 30, 2023, an individual came into an LVMPD police station to report a battery.

“According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard.

“During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”

Variety reports that it is unclear whether the person who reported the incident was the one seen in the video or if it was someone else who was also hit by the microphone.

And, according to People, other videos from the concert show the rapper actually encouraging people to throw drinks at her to try and cool her down during the gig.

Clips reportedly show her asking: “Splash me down…That s**t feel good. Put that s**t in my p***y, b***h. Come on.”

At the end of the concert, Cardi did try and explain why she was so upset at that one particular fan.

“I don’t wanna look that ghetto, b***h. I said splash my p***y, not my face, b***h,” she reportedly said.
