Angus Cloud posted a heartbreaking message to his "best friend" just days before his death, age 25.
Cloud, best known for playing 'Fez' in Euphoria, passed away at home, in Oakland, California, Monday.
Two weeks ago Cloud edited a post on Instagram of his dad, writing, "miss you breh."
His family revealed that Cloud had buried his dad, who was his "best friend", last week.
Cloud's final Instagram post, on July 18, was a picture of him sporting new grills on his teeth, a beanie emblazoned with, 'Oakland Dope', and a scarf. He captioned the post: "The Cloud Fella rockin 18K white gold grillz."
In a statement, Cloud's family said:"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today," a statement from Cloud's family reads.
Cloud buried his father last week, according to family, and was in a "battle with mental health".
"The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend," the statement continued.
"We hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
Cloud posted a photo of his father on Instagram and wrote, "miss u breh", just two weeks ago.
Cloud's cause of death has not been revealed.
A source close to Cloud's family told Entertainment Tonight that Cloud "had been battling severe suicidal thoughts" after he returned from Ireland where he had buried his dad.
Cloud was staying with family, ET reported, "as he tried to work through overcoming grief".
Cloud became a breakout star for playing drug dealer Fezco "Fez" O'Neill in the hit HBO drama, Euphoria, and had minor roles in two films, North Hollywood and The Line.
HBO said in a statement: "We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family.
"We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time."
Cloud had minor acting credits in two films, North Hollywood and The Line. He had also appeared in music videos for artists including Becky G, Karol G and Juice WRLD. But his career really took off after he won the part of Fez, a high school drug dealer in Euphoria.
In 2019, Cloud told GQ that he had no desire to become a star, or even an actor, and used to work at a chicken and waffle shop, before being stopped by a casting agent.
"I was confused and I didn't want to give her my phone number," Cloud told GQ. "I thought it was a scam."
Euphoria, which first aired in June 2019 and centred around Zendaya, became the most tweeted-about TV show of the decade in the US.
