Everyone is saying the same thing about the ‘worst ever’ Glastonbury lineup

JOE

History will be made at this year’s festival, but not everyone is chuffed with the acts…

The Glastonbury lineup for 2024 has been confirmed, including all three headliners.

Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA will headline the iconic festival this year, meaning it is the first time in the festival’s history that there have been two female headliners.

Meanwhile, Shania Twain will will play the coveted “legend slot” on Sunday afternoon.

Other acts on this year’s lineup include Brit Award-winning rapper Little Simz and Afrobeats star Burna Boy, who will make his Pyramid Stage debut.

The likes of Idles, Disclosure, The National. The Streets, Two Door Cinema Club, Avril Lavigne and Bombay Bicycle Club will all play on the second-biggest stage, the Other Stage.

And more history will be made this year when Seventeen become the first K-pop group ever to play on the Pyramid Stage.

Coldplay will become the first ever act to headline Glastonbury five times. This will be the first time they’ve played at the festival since 2016.

Dua Lipa last played at Glastonbury seven years ago, but on a much smaller scale when she appeared on the John Peel stage in a slot on Friday afternoon.

The confirmation that she is headlining Glastonbury comes a day after she announced her new album, Radical Optimism, would be arriving on May 3.

And SZA’s headline slot completes an incredible rise from the singer in the last two years. Her 2022 album SOS was a huge commercial and critical hit, reaching number one in the US and number two in the UK.

However, not everyone is best pleased by the line-up, with many fans claiming it to be the worst line-up the festival has ever put out.

“This may be the worst line up the festival has ever had,” one person wrote.

“By far the worst line up. No wonder there were no leaks,” a second put.

While a third said: “Been attending since 2010 but man this hurts. There used to big names on all stages but now it’s 1 big name followed by the best of the B list. I mean compared to previous years this is poor, very poor.”

A fourth simply put: “Well this is… disappointing.”

Despite all the complaints, it doesn’t seem like Glasto is going to have any problem with filling up the festival.

Tickets for Glastonbury sold out within an hour of going on sale in November, with the festival opening its gates on Wednesday, June 26.
