The Derry Girls cast reveal what they want to see happen in Season 2

The hit show will be coming back!

As the credits rolled on the season finale of Derry Girls, fans of Lisa McGee's hit show were asking two things. 1) Why is the season so short? 2) When is the second season coming? Well, we can't answer that but there's no need to start pissing on dead nuns and eating sandwiches because the show will be coming back with Nadine Coyle in tow. https://twitter.com/JOE_co_uk/status/956161917692928001 Anyways, Nicola Coughlan (Clare) and Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Erin) were speaking with The Metro and they shared a few ideas on what they'd like to see to see in Season 2. It's clear that the show is extremely collaborative because the cast is constantly swapping ideas with Lisa McGee.

"I can't wait. It's going to be so good. I can't wait to see what Lisa (writer) has come up with as well. Even when we were filming Season One, I'm sure that we had Lisa tortured because we had so many ideas about what we wanted to do and what we think each character should be at. We also have a group chat with Lisa and I'm sure she's ruing the day she joined that," said Jackson.

Regarding specific plotline that they'd love to see happen on the show, Coughlan had a few ideas involving James.

"I do want James to get a really stupid haircut. I really want James to dye his hair blonde like Justin Timberlake in the '90s. I'd love to see Michelle with - do you remember - those diamonds that you used to glue on to your teeth and the stayed there for two years? I'd love to see Michelle with diamond teeth," she said.

She adds: "I'd love for them to go to a rave because I think they'd be mad at a rave. I'd also love to see them do a school play. I'd also like to see one of James' friends - one of his English friends. I'd love James to be like 'the cool one' of that group and for the girls to be like 'no, no, NO!' It would be great to see his English friends come over and for us to realise that James is the cool one." https://twitter.com/JOE_co_uk/status/951822248981286912 When asked if they wanted any celebrity cameos, Jackson is hoping that Dara O'Briain might fancy a role in the show as the girls' science teacher. The leader of the Derry Girls also fancies the idea of Britney Spears visiting Derry. Britney on the Foyle, why not? As for the charming, stuttering and constantly panicked Clare, Coughlan thinks that Amy Poehler would be absolutely perfect as her mam in the show. While these are all excellent shouts, we've got one suggestion. Any chance of seeing Kamal, the wee Ethiopian boy from Ballybofey, in Season 2?  Make it happen!
