Davina McCall asks savage question about Piers Morgan on 100k Drop

James Dawson

Can you believe they asked this?

The thing you’ve got to realise about daytime TV is that, fundamentally, the people it’s devised for are retired. That’s why the 10am to 3pm schedule is full to the brim with affable but bland presenters. People who, at face value at least, are complete and utterly inoffensive – your Noel Edmonds and your Ben Shephards.

It all plods along at a pace its audience can follow. Question, a little bit of #banter, another question. Maybe Linda from Bournemouth gets asked what she’s going to do with her potential winnings – it’s a conservatory of course. And on and on, until the break before the next daytime TV show.

You’ve got to think that being a researcher on one of those shows has got to get a bit boring. So, yeh, maybe one day one of them thinks, “fuck it, let’s sneak something utterly savage in there, nobody will even notice.”

Take this question that was asked on The £100k Drop today…

If you’re wondering, the order was first the infamous Press Awards punching in 2004, then he got sacked in the same year, and then, finally, he was divorced in 2008.

But I think the main take-home here is – What. A. Question.
