One of the best modern action shows is back with new reboot on Disney+

With an 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes, people are calling it a worthy successor.

The original Marvel show followed Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox, Kin), a lawyer who was blinded as a child in a chemical accident, which also gave him special abilities.

As an adult, Murdock uses his other heightened senses to become a vigilante dubbed Daredevil, who fights crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down.

"While Murdock's day job requires him to believe in the criminal justice system, his alter ego does not follow suit, leading him to take the law into his own hands to protect his Hell's Kitchen neighbourhood and the surrounding communities," the Netflix plot synopsis read.

Daredevil was beloved upon release for its grittier tone than most Marvel projects, its visceral action and fight sequences, and its great performances (particularly Vincent D'Onofrio as Daredevil's nemesis Wilson Fisk/Kingpin).

And now Disney+ is continuing the series' story, with its new reboot show titled Daredevil: Born Again.

In the revival, Murdock has given up his vigilante crime-fighting while Fisk has gone from mob boss to New York mayoral candidate.

"When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course," the plot synopsis from Disney states.

Also featuring several other cast members from Netflix's Daredevil, Born Again is earning very positive reviews from critics - currently holding an 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

How to watch Daredevil: Born Again

Having already been renewed for a second season, the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are streaming on Disney+ now, with the rest of its nine-episode first season dropping weekly on Wednesdays.

All three seasons of the original Daredevil can also be viewed on Disney+.
