Coronation Street character to make shock comeback, with new actor playing role

They've ditched the original actor, in favour of a famous face you'll probably already recognise.

Michelle Connor - played by Kym Marsh - discovered the son she raised, Ryan, wasn’t actually her biological son after a mix-up at the hospital. She later met up with her real son, Alex, but he quickly departed the infamous cobbles and has rarely been heard from since. A source told The Sun: "Ali settles himself in Weatherfield and seems happy to make friends with everyone else but gives his mum the cold shoulder. However, they added that the son will have an 'ulterior motive' for his return. And given that it's not looking like he'll be very nice to her, you can't imagine any of this is good news for Michelle.
