Big cat expert reviews Netflix hit show Tiger King
Animal cruelty was a constant theme throughout the show
Netflix show Tiger King was a massive hit for the streaming platform and was, for a considerable period of time, all viewers could talk about while they were watching it.
The show centres on the business and personal life of eccentric zoo owner Joe Exotic, who ran the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma, an animal park which contained tigers and a number of other wild animals.
Much of the show was taken up by Exotic's bitter rivalry with a woman named Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary near Tampa, Florida.
But away from the drama of the show is near-constant footage of the animals contained within the confines of the many animal parks featured throughout.
We got big cat expert Giles Clark from The Big Cat Sanctuary, who has been working with big cats for more than 20 years, to watch the show for the first time. What he saw disturbed him greatly.
