Arctic Monkeys delight fans with setlist full of old-school classics

The Sheffield-based band kicked off their UK stadium tour in Bristol this week

The setlist for the Artic Monkeys’ 2023 UK stadium tour has delighted fans, with the band opening the show with an old-school favourite.

The Sheffield-based rockers returned to the big stage for the first time in years this week, performing at Ashton Gate in front of a sell-out crowd.

Picking off iconic British stadiums, the band will head to Norwich’s Carrow Road before playing Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium.

They will then head to their home town of Sheffield to play two nights at Hillsborough Park in front of tens of thousands of people.

Fans were given a first glimpse at the setlist this week as Bristol gig-goers were treated to a total of 21 songs which were mostly fan favourites with only three from the band’s latest album The Car, which was released last October.

The set gets off to a riveting start, with frontman Alex Turner blasting out the 2006 classic ‘Mardy Bum’.

Elsewhere in the show, the band performed the likes of ‘505’, ‘Arabella’, ‘Teddy Picker’, ‘The View From The Afternoon’ and ‘Fluorescent Adolescent’, before ending with all-time favourites ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ and ‘R U Mine?’.

Turner looks massively different from the last time the Monkeys graced UK stages, sporting a shaved head that prompted the usual social media response.
