Lizzo hits back at weight trolls by branding herself ‘perfect’ and ‘the beauty standard’

‘I am f***ing gorgeous!’

Lizzo has shared a candid video celebrating her body and declaring herself “the beauty standard.”

The 34-year-old singer has recently been the subject of trolling and nasty comments on social media over her body and weight.

But she’s determined to not let the haters get her down

In a video shared on social media, Lizzo said: “I just finished showering and doing my little routine, and you know what I realized, I am f****** gorgeous

“I am the beauty standard. Catch up, b****!”

“I’m sorry that my perfect face and rockin body offends you… I can’t help that I’m God’s favourite”, she captioned the video on Instagram.

“I’m gorgeous…I am the beauty standard”, she told fans.

She also shared the clip on TikTok, with the caption: “I seen way too many tik tok lives discussing my body lately…. Yall ok?”

It has racked up more than 293,000 views.

She was recently the subject of a tweet which many interpreted as fat shaming.

A social media user tweeted a picture of herself and one of the singer and asked her followers: “Me or Lizzo?”

Many fans leapt to Lizzo’s defence.

One person wrote: “Lizzo is a beautiful woman, regardless of her size. She’s not only a talented singer but is a kind-hearted and hilarious person as well.”

They continued in their tweet: “The shape of your body doesn’t define your character. It is your personality and how you treat others that defines you. Lizzo, you go girl!”

Whilst another commented: “Even if I didn’t know who Lizzo was, I definitely would choose her just based on the photo. She looks so loving and peaceful and full of light”.

“I am always attracted to the complete package. Lizzo’s amazing attitude and her musical talent is part of [that] and that makes her extremely attractive,” said another.
