The singer explained that she wants to enjoy the life she has been building.
"I just need a rest. I’ve spent the last seven years building this life for myself, I want to live it now. I want to live my new life I’ve been building."
Her Vegas residency wraps up in November with the singer performing her final show in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 23rd.
Fans were devastated to hear about the singer's plans to step away from the spotlight.
One wrote: "I need to be at the next round of Vegas shows, I just want to be at one. I’ve never seen her live."
Another added: "I wasn’t able to see any of her shows. But when she returns I most definitely will. I love her music and I think she has an amazing spirit."
A third shared: "Adele will disappear for another 5,6,7 years and then come back with new music and likely another child. She wants another one."
Adele previously admitted she had no plans to record new music during her break.
However, she does plan on working on other creative projects.
The Chasing Pavements singer told German outlet ZDF: "I don’t have any plans for new music, at all. I want a big break after this."
Adele added: "I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."
