Has Steven Gerrard had elocution lessons? (Video)

It seems that Steven Gerrard has been taking My Fair Lady-style elocution lessons ahead of his move to MLS.

During his farewell speech to the Anfield faithful, the former Liverpool captain had no reason to hide his thick Scouse accent, telling the fans: "I've loved every minute of it and I'm absolutely devastated I'm never going to play in front of these supporters again." He spoke in the friendly, frenetic manner to which we're accustomed, with a conversational style that reflects the sometimes over-the-top enthusiasm he displayed on the pitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKksex3XDG8 However, barely a month later, Gerrard was noticeably more slow and deliberate in his speech when he greeted LA Galaxy fans for the first time. Was he worried about the Californian audience struggling to cope with the Merseyside twang, or has he just been keen to reinvent himself as a man of the world? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8DjyHDos0Y We're starting to wonder if Gerrard has taken a leaf out of Steve McClaren's book after playing under the Newcastle United manager during his England days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZnoP4sUV90 Now that he's made his Galaxy debut, we're starting to worry about Gerrard going on about "tie games" and becoming the "winningest". Hopefully we haven't lost him forever. H/T @jamiewh_
