Mark Wahlberg earns 1500 times more than Michelle Williams for All The Money In The World reshoot

Really puts the name of the film into new perspective…

Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for reshooting his scenes on real-life kidnap drama All The Money In The World, while co-star Michelle Williams received only $80 per day for expenses.

That’s the claim from USA Today, who report that Williams was paid less than 1% of her male co-star’s fee for the reshoots, and wasn’t informed of the move.

The publication, which quotes three anonymous sources “familiar with the situation” revealed that representatives for Wahlberg – named as Hollywood’s highest-paid actor by Forbes last August – negotiated for the $1.5 million figure.

This would contradict director Ridley Scott’s remarks to USA Today in December that “everyone did it for nothing.”

The reshoots came about following allegations of sexual misconduct against Kevin Spacey, who was ultimately replaced in the role of billionaire J. Paul Getty by Christopher Plummer.

Scott managed to assemble his cast and crew on short notice during the Christmas period, successfully reshooting and re-editing the film in time to meet its original release date.

Several high profile names took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the news, including actors Jessica Chastain and Patricia Arquette, who have been vocal about the need for gender equality and wage parity in Hollywood.
