There are no words to describe the horrors that face the children of Aleppo.

Aleppo is a major battleground in Syria’s devastating civil war. Fighting has intensified in the region since mid-July. It is split between western areas held by the Government, backed by Russian warplanes, and eastern regions held by rebels.

Tweets from 7-year-old Bana Alabed offer a rare insight to life within the conflict.

Bana’s account is moderated by her mother and thus far, the pair have used it to highlight the effect the conflict has had on Bana’s childhood.

Most recently, Bana contacted J.K. Rowling.

The writer responded with love and it is understood that she is making efforts to get a book to Bana.

Over 40% of the children left in what remains of Aleppo are now orphans.

It has been months since the video of 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh shocked the world and yet, the conflict continues. A new video by AJ+ highlights the inhuman treatment of the people still remaining.

If you want to do something, consider donating to this charity affecting change in the area.

Founder Ollie Skehan says: #ALittleforAleppo will not break you, far from it, but it could make a massive difference to a completely shattered people.

The money raised will go directly to Moumayazoun orphanage – the ONLY orphanage in Aleppo.
