Danny Welbeck: Trust me, the goals will come…

He's Gunner score...

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has reassured Gooners that he will start hitting the net on a far more regularly basis soon…

The England International has been an integral part of the Gunners’ excellent form of late but hasn’t scored a league goal for the North London club in 2015.

Speaking to ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown for Football Focus, the 24-year-old explained that this season was always going to be one of adjustment.

“It’s a transitional year for me and getting to know new players, team-mates, systems, new ways of going about things,” said Welbeck.

“I think I’ve put in a few good performances and been a bit unlucky on the goals front which is something I know will come in abundance once I come to know everything spot on with the club.”

Despite only managing four league goals all season, Welbeck did help Arsenal overcome his old club Manchester United in the FA Cup by scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 victory.

Welbeck has never managed to score more than 10 league goals in a season, but has been far more prolific for the national side under Roy Hodgson.
