China has gone to war with high-tech exam cheats….using drones

Ben Kenyon

Cheating on exams has been around for centuries…well, since the dawn of exams anyway.

Back in the day it used to be some hastily scribbled notes on your arm or an answer book smuggled in down your pants.

But we’re in the 21st century now and cheats have gone high-tech. Sophisticated gadgets are being used by wily students as nine million teenagers take university exams in China.

Creeping

Last year invigilators busted people using hidden earpieces and even tiny James Bond-style camera pens to photograph exam questions so friends outside can message them answers.

Cheeky! But now Chinese authorities have stepped things up a notch in this cat-and-mouse cheating arms race.

They’re shipping in drones to fly 500m above the exam room to scan for suspicious radio frequencies.

Alerts will be beamed back to a tablet device informing the invigilator

Big Brother is truly upon us!

It’s probably time to get back to some old school exam skulduggery. Pass the Biro.
