Arsenal offered chance to sign Christian Eriksen at knock-down price

Eriksen could be on the way back to the Premier League

After finally getting his move away from north London last January (has it only been ten months?), Christian Eriksen might just be on his way back in a matter of weeks.

Since departing Tottenham, he’s failed to hold down a regular starting berth under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan and has been repeatedly linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent weeks.

After last week’s rumour that he could move to Spurs’ old foes Arsenal as part of a swap deal, a fresh report from ESPN now claims the Gunners have the opportunity to sign the playmaker for a deal worth less than the £16.9m Spurs received for him at the start of the year.

The same report claims Spurs have privately ruled out any attempts to bring the player back to the club, but that Arsenal are one of several Premier League sides to have been made aware of the Dane’s availability.

Eriksen, despite the seven years he spent with Spurs, is said to be open to the idea of playing for Mikel Arteta’s side and could be signed for as little as £12m.

A regular criticism of Arteta’s evolving Arsenal side has been its lack of creativity, and Eriksen could be viewed as a solution to that.

Whether the Arsenal boss sees him as an ideal fit with his high-intensity style of play, however, remains to be seen.
