There’s a new dating app that matches you with people who hate the same things as you

There's a wonderful quote from High Fidelity that really explains why certain people fall in love with each other. As Rob says: "What really matters is what you like, not what you are like… Books, records, films – these things matter. Call me shallow but it’s the f**king truth." Romantic comedies would have you believe that relationships are built on things like happiness, trust and respect, but we're willing to argue the opposite. In fact, it's perfectly reasonable for a person to fall in love with someone else based entirely on a shared disinterest in things, or a mutual hatred of the same people/events/bands/films/habits etc. Films like Harry Potter would have you believe that love trumps all, but as we know, there are times when it's good to give in to your anger and hate. While traditional dating apps like Tinder encourage people to be all charm, smiles and sunshine, a new app named Hater is only focused on matching people that dislike the same things. After downloading the app, users are then asked to swipe in different directions to indicate if they love, hate, like, dislike or are indifferent to a specific activity, concept, famous person etc. Hater then creates a profile of its users, based solely on the things that they dislike, before matching them with people that share a similar disinterest in the same things. The app will be released on February 8th, perfect for anyone that's looking for love but f**king hates Valentine's Day.
