Here’s your next dose of retro gaming nostalgia

The clever folk at SEGA are soon to release a brand new online hub, where gamers can log onto for free and play some of their favourite Mega Drive games.

Available through PC gaming platform Steam, the SEGA Mega Drive classics is set up like a virtual bedroom, full of your favourite classic games to play.

There will be versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe and Streets of Rage for gamers to pick up and play (for a small price).

SEGA is promising pixel-perfect emulation of all your favourite games, with local co-op , full keyboard and gamepad support and a handy save option so you can bookmark your progress anywhere.

What’s better still, is each game will feature Steam Workshop support, allowing you to share and play modified versions of retro titles.

We may finally get that Streets of Rage fan sequel we’ve been longing for. Or a version of Shinobi that isn’t balls to the wall difficult.

We gamers can only hope.

The SEGA Mega Drive Classics Hub is available via Steam from April 28. You can view the full list of titles supported here.
