Amazon is the only UK retailer that still has pre orders open for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console days before launch.
The online giant has reopened pre orders for the console priced at £395.99 and says orders will be released on 5 June. You can order them here.
Other retailers including Argos and Very have closed pre orders after selling out their initial allocation while Currys cancelled some pre orders last week just days before the console is due to arrive in stores. Currys is now listing the console for £9.999 on its website as a way to discourage pre orders.
AO, Shopto, HMV and EE have all listed the new console as out of stock.
The launch of the next generation of handheld console is set to take place on 5 June, when the Nintendo Switch 2 is due to replace the original console as the brand’s flagship handheld console device.
The console was launched in March on a live stream, where Nintendo confirmed the console would have new ‘mouse control’ joy-con controllers, a better processor for better game performance and a host of new games.
It has a new, larger 7.9-inch screen Nintendo says the console has eight times more storage than the previous generation. It can also be connected to a TV via a stand and can show games in 4K for the first time.
The company has faced some criticism for the cost of games set to be launched on the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. The new Mario Kart World game costs £74.99 for the physical edition of the game, a big hike on Nintendo Switch games.
Other games set to launch for the new console include a new Zelda game, Warriors of Hyrule, a new Donkey Kong game and several versions of many current titles including EAFC.
You can pre order the new Nintendo Switch 2 at Amazon here.
