Nintendo has issued a warning to Switch 2 owners that doing one thing could lead to screen breaks and shattered glass on the new console.
The company has officially launched the new Switch 2 console and despite pre orders quickly selling out some sites such as Amazon are still stocking the handheld console, while others held midnight launches in person where people can pick up the Switch 2 at launch.
Nintendo sold over 150 million consoles for the original Switch and is expected to sell at least 15 million Switch 2 consoles in the first year. But Nintendo has warned buyers that one action could lead to breaking the device.
Nintendo has released its official health and safety manual for the device and says: "The screen is covered with a film layer designed to prevent fragments scattering in the event of damage. Do not peel it off."
The film, which some fans may think is just part of the protective packaging when unboxing the Switch 2, helps to keep the screen from shattering if it becomes cracked.
The advice is important because technology such as modern smart phones often come with a protective film over the screen that can be peeled off and replaced. However it seems the Nintendo Switch 2 protector needs to stay on the device.
The new Nintendo Switch, priced from around £395, will be one of the biggest games console launches of the generation.
The success of the original console eight years ago changed handheld gaming forever and the latest generation adds eight times more storage, better processing power, an improved screen, better battery life and new controllers that also double as a computer mouse to open up the console to more styles of games than ever before.
The new Switch 2 also introduces new multiplayer modes including a video chat option and screencasting to 4K TVs to allow immersive gaming with friends. It is no surprise Nintendo's flagship game is Mario Kart World. Priced at an eye-watering £75, the game is the latest multiplayer racer from Nintendo featuring all of the popular characters from the franchise.
The new Nintendo Switch 2 console is on sale across the UK now. You can buy it here.
