'Peek' appears to be all about pressing on icons and apps in order to pull up shortcuts. For example, pressing down on the camera icon gives you the option to take a selfie instantly. Similarly, pressing down on the Facebook icon allows you to quickly post a new status or update a profile picture.
'Pop', on the other hand, allows you to pull up overlays of different media without them taking over the screen. A quick swipe away and you're back where you started.
For the first time since 2011, there's an increase in the iPhone's mega-pixel count, now up to 12 thanks to the addition of a new rear camera. A new 5 mega-pixel front camera has also been installed.
Another new feature means that you'll be taking plenty of video footage with the new iPhone. Live Photos automatically shoots a second and a half of footage either side of a photo. While the feature is default with the new handset, it's thought it can be turned off.Tech
