Amazon has launched a deal on one of the best budget phones on the market.
The Samsung A16 is the budget option from one of the world's best premium phone makers and Amazon is now selling the handset for just £169, down from £200.
The 5G phone is reduced in the latest sale and offers a cheap option for those who are still in contract but need a new handset and at a new cheaper price, it may be the best budget phone on the market.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max, the top range premium phone on sale, costs £1,119 for the handset alone, although you can get it for £40 a month on the lowest priced contract.
Samsung's big iPhone rival, the S24 Ultra, is also around the £40 mark for a monthly contract but shoppers hoping to save money can buy the A16 instead for the cost of just four months of contract of a premium phone.
The Samsung 'A' range is one of the best cheap but quality handsets available to buy today. I have spent six months with the Samsung A16 and performance, battery and camera quality are impressive for a phone that now costs just £160 all-in.
It boasts a 6.7-inch screen and that matches the likes of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Galaxy S24. While it cannot boast the high-end screen quality of more premium phones it does look and feel better than many of its budget rivals. Streaming and gaming are clear thanks to the FHD+ Super AMOLED display.
The camera, a 50MP offering, is ideal for everyday use and the phone also comes with a front-facing camera. The 128GB black-blue phone also comes with a three-year warranty when bought through Amazon.
Apart from the ultra-low price the real benefit of the Samsung A16 comes with battery life. A single charge can last up to two days with moderate use and even when I am using the phone heavily it easily lasts a full day.
For those who are out of contract the phone can be paired with a low-cost SIM card. You can get a 5GB Lebara SIM card for just £2.50 a month and the brand promises no mid-contract price rises during the duration of your contract.
Heavier data users can buy a 50GB SIM card from Smarty for £8 a month on a rolling contract and the deal also includes free data roaming in Europe.
