Amazon leaks tips for shoppers a week before Prime Day

Amazon has offered inside tips on how to get the best deals next week when it launches Prime Day 2025.

The sales event is one of the biggest of the year on the Amazon website and the shopping giant has launched a secret weapon that can help shoppers get better deals during the event – an AI assistant called Rufus.

Amazon says Rufus can help to find deals and sift through the tens of thousands of discounts that will be offered across eight days between 8 and 11 July.

Prime Day is Amazon’s second biggest discounting event after Black Friday and Amazon has offered tips on getting the best deals. It has already confirmed Bose, De' Longhi, Dyson, Lego, Shark, CeraVe, Ninja, and Sonos will all offer discounts.

The brands have already launched pre-Prime Day deals. Shark is the first to cut prices for the big summer sale with its new Shark Flex fan, which includes fine mist mode, on sale as temperatures hit as high as 33 degrees Celsius across the UK and Ireland today. The fan is now £99, down from £149.99.

Other deals available early include a number of Soundcore headphones and other tech including power banks and electric toothbrushes. 

Amazon has warned shoppers the deals will only be available for people who sign up for Amazon Prime.

It says: "Prime Day deals are exclusive to Amazon's Prime members, so if you're not already signed up, consider doing so before the event. In the UK, Prime membership costs £8.99 per month or £95.00 per year, and new members can enjoy a 30-day free trial.

"Students and young adults aged 18-22 can get it for half price (£4.49 per month or £47.49 per year), with a 6-month trial at no cost."

Amazon has also warned shoppers that the number of deals will be in the tens of thousands. Amazon Prime members can create wish lists of items they want to buy to keep everything in one place. Creating a wishlist now means you can easily check when the deals begin.
