Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi go way back. Their relationship is one of the strongest bromances in football, especially considering they have never played for the same club side.
Their love affair began at the 2008 Olympics, when the attacking duo won gold together under Marcelo Bielsa. It's safe to say all three of them have gone on to cement their names in footballing history.
This summer, with Agüero's contract at Manchester City expiring and his superpowers in front of goal on the decline, it made sense for all parties that 'Kun' would move on to pastures new after ten years at the Etihad.
Despite links with Paris Saint-Germain, Agüero signed on a free for cash-strapped Barcelona, basically so he could go and have one last hurrah with his best friend in football. And you know what? Fair enough.
But Thursday night's bombshell news that Barcelona are unable to retain Messi due to new La Liga regulations and their own financial clusterfuck appear to have led to a change of heart.
Understandably gutted, Agüero is reportedly speaking with his lawyers to try to find a way of leaving the Catalan club before he's played a competitive game for them.
Catalan news outlet La Porteria are the first to exclusively report Agüero's desire to leave, and considering the bizarre circumstances at Camp Nou, it sounds like it might be in everyone's best interests.

Given the fact Barclona have not yet assigned either him or Memphis Depay a squad number and still look unable to register them as part of the La Liga squad unless they shed more money off the wage bill, the club might well be up for calling the whole thing off. The main reason they'd signed him was to convince Messi to stay for another year. But now, do they need another 33-year-old eating into their budget?
