West Ham United are prepared to offer Harry Maguire an exit route out of Manchester United by making a bid.
David Moyes is keen to bring Maguire, 30, to the club however it would require the defender to take a substantial pay cut so that he could fit in with the Hammers' wage structure.
The Hammers have money to spend after Declan Rice's £105m move to Arsenal was confirmed on Saturday and have identified Maguire as a player that would improve their squad.
United had been one of the sides interested in Rice and during conversations Maguire's name was mentioned however the Red Devils preferred to swap Rice for one of Scott McTominay or Anthony Elanga instead.
Maguire has reportedly accepted that his future most likely lies away from Old Trafford and is one of the 13 players that the club are prepared to offload to raise money for their own transfer plans.
As revealed by the Daily Mail, United would be expecting to fetch around £40m for the England international - a significant loss on the £80m they paid to sign him in 2019 - but United won't also actively try to sell him if he is committed to fighting for his place.
Last season Maguire started just eight times in the Premier League and fell to fourth choice behind Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and even left back Luke Shaw has been preferred at centre back on some occasions.
