Wayne Rooney could make multi-million pound switch from Nike to Adidas

His lack of form might be one of the main topics of Manchester United’s start to the season, but it seems Wayne Rooney will have no shortage of offers when it comes to commercial deals.

Currently paid £1m-a-year with his current deal with Nike, it now appears that Adidas would like the Manchester United and England captain to advertise their products.

With Adidas recently taking over from Nike in a deal to provide United’s kits, it’s now reported by The Sun that the German sportswear giant are now want Rooney to make a similar switch.

The timing of such news appears strange with Rooney’s very public struggle to find form. Along with his United team-mates, Rooney failed to find the net again in Saturday’s visit to Crystal Palace as Louis van Gaal’s men lost more ground on Manchester City and Arsenal in the title race.
