WATCH: Will Ferrell interviews Roger Federer as Ron Burgundy and it’s hilarious

Paul Moore

He’s kind of a big deal.

There was a time, a time before greatness, when various other athletes reigned supreme, when people didn’t marvel at the male tennis players they saw on TV. But as the world moved on, one tennis player was more man than the rest. His name was Roger Federer. He was like a god walking amongst mere mortals. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and tennis clothes that were so fine, they made Sinatra look like a hobo. In other words, Roger Federer was the balls.

Speaking of the Swiss maestro, he baegan the defence of his Australian Open title with a straight sets victory over former Aljaz Bedene on the Rod Laver Arena.

The 19-times grand slam champion (19 bloody titles!) started strongly and sailed through his opening match winning 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 in one hour and 39 minutes.

After the match, Will Ferrell came out on the court and gave the world’s greatest athlete the interview of a lifetime.

John McEnroe McIntosh was also there as Burgundy asked the question that we’re all curious about, is Federer a witch or a vampire?

Stay classy, Melbourne!
