WATCH: Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier react to news they’ll face each other at the World Cup

Spurs training could become a little tasty towards the end of the season...

So there you have it.

With the group stage draw completed in Russia on Friday afternoon, Gareth Southgate’s England team now knows a little bit more about how their march to inevitable World Cup glory next summer will pan out.

Drawn in Group G, the Three Lions will have to navigate their way past Belgium, Panama and Tunisia en route to the knockout stages.

Clearly, Belgium is expected to prove to be the more difficult of the three group fixtures. Many of the country’s top players – including the likes of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku – currently ply their trade in the Premier League.

Tottenham also have three Belgians on their books: Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele. As revealed by his Instagram Story, Vertonghen chose to watch the draw in the company of Spurs teammate and England international, Eric Dier.

The footage, which has been widely shared on Twitter in the time since the draw, appears to show that Dier is the happier of the two men when news of the draw is finalised.

We’ll see who’s the happier when the sides meet in Kaliningrad on June 28.
