What a way to christen the new ground
In the first of two test events to take place at Tottenham Hotspur’s newly built stadium, the first ever goal at the ground was scored as Spurs U18s took the lead against Southampton, with J’Neil Bennett printing his name in the history books.
And what a goal it was. Bennett received a pass in what modern football fans like to call the half-space. With the option to either dribble wide or cut inside, he chose the latter and unleashed a fierce shot, bending into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper hopeless.

And there it was, the first ever goal scored at Spurs’ new home, which looks magnificent by the way.
A Harvey White penalty doubled Spurs’ lead before the break, giving their U18 side a comfortable cushion to sit on in the second half.

The first Premier League fixture to take place at the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ which we will be calling the new White Hart Lane will be against Crystal Palace on April 3.
Spurs will also host the home tie of their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City at this magnificent beast of a stadium.
