Mark Williams claimed his third Snooker World Championship on Sunday night. Then he got naked
It was a tense encounter that included a monumental seven frame comeback from his opponent John Higgins, before Williams eventually came out on top 18-16 at Sheffield’s Crucible.
Williams last World Championship came 15 years ago and he was clearly delighted to once again take home snooker’s top prize and a record £425,000 in prize money.
So delighted, in fact, he strode into his press conference after the match wearing only a towel.

He said before the tournament he would do his press conference naked if he won the World Title and clearly, he is a man of his word. We’ll let him off for walking across in the towel, nobody at home needs to see two reds after the snooker itself has finished.
The only downside for Williams, other than getting to show off his tattoo sleeves and beach-bod, was it got all got a bit nippy in the media room.
