WATCH: Manchester United’s big Alexis Sanchez announcement interrupted by sweary caller

The look on their faces!

JOE

You can’t please everyone.

Manchester United’s fan base was awash with glee last night after the club announced the long-awaited signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, in a swap deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way.

It had been in the pipeline for a while and as such, there were plenty of delighted Red Devils supporters all across social media and, presumably, in the real world too.

As such, the presenters of The Paddy Crerand Show on MUTV could be forgiven for assuming it would be a fairly straightforward night of viewer phone-ins from happy fans when they took to the air just as the deal was announced.

One caller didn’t seem to get the memo, however.

The caller in question, an old woman from Denton named Edna, was greeted to the show by presenter Stewart Gardner and United legends Paddy Crerand and David May.

Unfortunately, Edna didn’t seem to realise that she was on air and proceeded to have a conversation with a man next to her despite encouragement from the fellas in the studio.

Seemingly discussing the possibility of Sanchez making his United debut against Yeovil in the FA Cup on Friday, the man can be heard saying: “Do you want him to break his legs? Playing in a shit game like that?”

Despite their initial confusion, Gardner and co. laughed it off quite calmly, and the show continued unabated. Let’s hope Edna is a little bit more prepared next time she calls in.
