Knockout monster Paul Daley brutally knocks out Brennan Ward with ferocious flying knee

Ward had to be stretchered out of the cage

There are no certainties in life… except, of course, that Paul Daley vs Brennan Ward was going to end in spectacular fashion.

With 37 knockouts between both fighters heading into their Bellator 170 co-main event bout, few expected the fiery affair to go the distance.

Sure enough, it didn’t make it past the first round with Paul Daley living up to his “Semtex” moniker yet again by scoring another explosive finish.

After getting tagged by a right hand,”Irish” Ward briefly scored a takedown, but was punished by the Nottingham native with more shots as they got back up to their feet. Ward would get one more takedown before Daley went in for the kill. The Brit separated a clinch with a nasty spinning elbow that dinged his opponent before lining up that spectacular flying knee that sent Ward on an all expenses paid trip to the shadow realm.

After the fight, Daley paid his respects to Ward, who was taken out of the cage on a stretcher. Ward gave the crowd a thumbs up as he made his exit, and Daley wished the American a swift recovery following the devastating loss. He also called out Rory MacDonald, who has yet to make his promotional debut since switching from the UFC in 2016.

“I’m looking at everybody, marquee names and champions. Rory MacDonald has come over from the UFC and things he can do his bullshit over here.  It ain’t going to happen.  Rory MacDonald gets in this cage with me, he’s getting knocked the fuck out.”

Seeing the Brit score his 29th career knockout in such brutal fashion didn’t put the fear of God into ‘the Red King,’ who laughed off the expletive-laden call-out.
