It's good to see the players have a sense of humour

As more and more player ratings on the new FIFA are revealed, there is more and more outrage on the internet. Not only from fans of each big club, furious that their star player is rated 86 and not 87, but also from the players themselves, it seems. A player's rating on FIFA might seem trivial, but it is how they are portrayed across the world to fans of the game who haven't seen them play. None of us have time to watch as much football as we would like, so we rely on things like FIFA ratings to inform us on the qualities of players from foreign leagues. Footballers are also full of ego, understandably. When Daniel Sturridge was informed that his pace stat was a mere 76, he was flabbergasted. I mean fuming. Almost literally fuming. Basically, footballers take this thing quite seriously. But they also have a sense of humour. And many big names from around Europe's top five leagues, including Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Diego Costa and Diego Godín have come together to make a brilliantly funny promotional video for the new game. The video features De Bruyne making a statement to the national press expressing outrage on behalf of players everywhere at supposedly inaccurate ratings. Pundits and reporters including Rio Ferdinand respond to the outrage by insisting the players must prove they are better than their rating on the pitch.
