Argentine commentator enjoys Leeds United goal even more than Marcelo Bielsa

JOE

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!

Leeds United looked a strong outfit in their 3-1 against Stoke City.

The Potters are favourites to bounce back to the Premier League following their relegation last season, but the Elland Road atmosphere and Marcelo Bielsa’s magic was too much for them as they suffered defeat in their opening game of the season.

The Yorkshire side, on the other hand, debuted the high-tempo, fluid football that has become synonymous with their new Argentinian manager’s teams over the years.

Their play throughout the game was typified by their first goal. Samuel Sáiz played a pass to Klich who slotted it past Butland, putting the Yorkshire club ahead.

And though the goal was good, the reaction of the commentators in Argentina to their fellow countryman’s side going ahead was even better. Listen to it here:

Bielsa moves to Leeds this summer and is credited as influencing the style of Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino among others.

Pre-season saw the signing of left-back Barry Douglas and striker Patrick Bamford, along with Jamal Blackman, Lewis Baker and Jack Harrison on season-long loan deals. Although Leeds’ first XI in today’s game was primarily composed of players available last year, with only Douglas handed a start of the new arrivals.

Having spent 14 years outside the Premier League the future is looking bright for Leeds United.
