Victor Lindelof’s fiancee claims price of Old Trafford box is “disgusting”

"If you don't buy one you're considered to be a loser."

Victor Lindelof’s fiancee is not one bit happy about the cost of renting boxes at Old Trafford.

Maja Nilsson, a Swedish blogger, has branded the price “disgusting” but claims that she would be considered “a loser” if she didn’t splash out to watch the defender play for his new club.

Lindelof has yet to feature for Manchester United in the Premier League since making his £31 million move from Benfica in the summer but he has lined out for the Red Devils in cup competitions while he grows accustomed to the demands of England’s top flight.

The 23-year-old started United’s 4-1 victory over Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night at Old Trafford, with his wife watching on.

And while Nilsson thoroughly enjoys the service in the couple’s box, she’s none too pleased with how much it cost, a fee which is believed to be between £24,000 and £81,600 a season.

“Here the players have the option to rent a box and I’m not even going to tell you for how much but a disgusting amount of money,” she said on her podcast Livet På Läktaren, via Manchester Evening News.

“And if you don’t buy one you’re considered to be a loser.

“But having a box is wonderful because you have your own waiter.”

Lindelof earns around £120,000 a week at Old Trafford and is currently being eased up to speed with the Premier League requirements, something which manager Jose Mourinho regularly does with players arriving from foreign leagues.

And while Lindelof comes to terms with the football culture in the UK, Nilsson refuses to be reduced to a WAG by the media.

“I am so sick and tired of people trying to make me smaller. Tired of people not knowing what’s important in life,” Nilsson said.

“I am an entrepreneur. I have my own company and soon I will start one more.”
