His arrival in the States will come as welcome news to Jose Mourinho, who voiced his concerns about how threadbare United's touring squad currently is during a press conference on Wednesday.
None of the United players that participated at the World Cup have travelled on the tour just yet, although some of those whose countries were knocked out in the earlier rounds are expected to join the squad in the coming days. Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford are not expected to feature on the tour after appearing in the final stages of the tournament in Russia.
