UFC star Joanna Jedrzejczyk leaves press conference in tears following Ariel Helwani question

"Sorry, one last one if I can..."

UFC 211’s co-main event all ended in tears.

Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk put in a predictably dominant performance against challenger Jessica Andrade in the women’s strawweight title fight to take a lopsided unanimous decision.

All three judges gave every single round to the Polish Powerhouse, with one judge even giving a 10-8 for the striking masterclass.

However, once the fight was over, it was all smiles for Andrade as although she lost the fight, she celebrated getting engaged to her girlfriend after proposing from inside the Octagon. No tear was shed from the defeated fighter, but the victor was weeping a few hours later at the press conference.

At the post-fight press conference, MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani asked Jedrzejczyk about her thoughts on her coach Kami Barzini leaving American Top Team following the event.

Jedrzejczyk made a nervous joke that she didn’t know anything about the high-profile coach departing the team, but Helwani soldiered on asking if she would try to convince him to remain as her coach. She appeared to be holding it together well with her response, but it was clear very soon that she wasn’t comfortable talking about the subject.

“He’s amazing, you know? And… like… I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about it.”

At this point, she choked up, held her head in her hand and then grabbed her belt and left the press conference without saying anything more. Helwani was very apologetic for causing such a reaction.
