This is what people were staring at in the sky on Friday morning

It felt just like a Radiohead video...

Tony Cuddihy

Liverpool saw it all but London wasn’t quite so lucky.

There was JOE, late for work but still balancing three chocolate croissants, two cappuccinos and several CCs of Red Bull on his person when he noticed people pointing and staring at something in the sky.

Was it a bird? Was it a plane? Was it Michael Keaton?

Nah, it was the eclipse, and luckily for people in Liverpool the clouds parted at just the right time and it was completely visible.

London missed out, however, as it was too cloudy to see the moon covering 90% of the sun and the next time we’ll see a full solar eclipse will be 2090.

For those who missed it but have a spare three hours, 16 minutes and 49 seconds, have we got a treat and a half for you? Don’t all thank us at once.
