Tyson Fury announces return to boxing with huge UK grudge match

The Gypsy King is coming back!

Tyson Fury has confirmed that he plans to make a comeback to boxing and is hopeful of fighting Derek Chisora for their third bout against each other.

The pair previously fought in 2011 and 2014, with the ‘Gypsy King’ coming out on top in two dominant performances against ‘Del Boy War’.

Fury, who announced his retirement from boxing after defeating Dillian Whyte earlier this year, recently stated that he would return to the sport if the right opportunity came up. Despite his retirement, the boxer has not yet surrendered his belts and is still officially the heavyweight champion.

The Briton has spoken about his desire to face off against Chisora to complete their trilogy on a number of occasions, and it now appears that the bout could indeed happen.

On Tuesday, Fury confirmed that he will return to boxing so that he can become the first heavyweight champion in history to have two trilogy fights, also announcing Isaac Lowe as his new trainer.

The Gypsy King recently called out Chisora on social media, saying: “This one goes out to Derek ‘The s***house’ Chisora; you’re running Derek, from the trilogy.

“You call yourself ‘War’ but you should call yourself chicken because you’re running from the trilogy and from a career-high pay day. Get that f***ing contract signed.”

It was widely speculated that Fury would come out of retirement to fight the winner of Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch, which takes place in Saudi Arabia next weekend.

Many people are suggesting that Chisora could be a warm up fight for AJ or Usyk, especially given that ‘Del Boy’ is coming towards the end of his career after three losses in his last four fights.
